Something has stopped working or is slowly getting worse. We find the cause, show you what failed, give you a written price and fix it properly.
How quickly you need us depends on what the water is doing. A quick guide:
While you wait: close the isolation valve nearest the leak, or the main valve if you cannot find it. Switch off the pump and the water heater if water is near them, and keep people away from wet electrical fittings.
If it carries water in or takes it away, we repair it. These are the jobs we do most often.
We trace the leak by isolation and pressure testing, then repair or replace the failed joint or section with matching material. Concealed leaks are located before any opening is made.
Mechanical clearing with the right tool for the line, followed by a flow test. If the blockage keeps coming back, we find out why — fall, pipe size or what is going down it.
We check supply, pump, pressure switch, valves and pipework in order, so the fix addresses the real restriction rather than adding a bigger pump to a blocked line.
Cartridge and washer replacement, diverter repairs, stuck valves freed or replaced, and shower mixers re-balanced for steady temperature.
Fill and flush valve replacement, seal renewal, wobbling pans re-fixed and leaking connectors replaced.
Leaking inlets, failed safety valves and poorly mixed hot lines corrected, with electrical isolation confirmed before work.
Tape, sealant and rubber wraps have their place — to stop water for a few hours until a proper repair can be made. Left in place, they fail at the worst moment and hide the corrosion underneath.
When we arrive at a pipe that has been patched, we cut back to sound material and make a permanent joint. If an immediate permanent repair is not possible, we tell you exactly how long the temporary measure is safe for and book the return visit before we leave.
A repair is not finished until it has been tested and the area is clean. Our plumbers work through the same closing checklist on every job.
Describe the fault and we will book the right plumber with the right parts.
